Courtney grew up in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. Following high school, she moved to Prince George, British Columbia to attend the University of Northern British Columbia. There, she completed her Undergraduate Degree in the Faculty of Arts where she received a double major in Political Science and International Studies. She later moved to Edmonton, Alberta where she attended the University of Alberta to complete her law degree.
Courtney was called to the Alberta Bar in 2015 and called to the British Columbia Bar in 2019.
While completing her law degree, Courtney was involved with Student Legal Services and the Youth Criminal Defence Office where she specifically handled criminal files. Throughout Courtney’s last year at law school she did a practicum with the Youth Criminal Defence Office, where she gained experience dealing with Youth matters in Provincial Court. Courtney then Articled with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, a non-profit organization that provides free legal services to low-income individuals. Here, she gained first hand experience in a wide variety of legal fields including: Residential Tenancy Law, Human Rights Law, Employment Law, and Family Law. She also spent a portion of her Article with Dawson Duckett Shaigec & Garcia Barristers and Trach Law, where she focused solely on Criminal Law. After passing the Bar, she worked at Trach Law for a number of years where she focused solely on Criminal and Family law. Following her move back to BC and call the BC bar, she has focussed solely on Criminal and Family Law, as well as Child and Family Service matters. She is extremely seasoned in litigation and is very comfortable in the Courtroom.
Courtney resides in Maple Ridge with her family. She is currently a member of both the British Columbia Law Society and the Alberta Law Society.
Courtney focuses on Criminal Defence and Family Law throughout the Lower Mainland. In the area of criminal defence, she specifically deals with matters of assault, impaired driving, drug possession, trafficking, domestic violence, weapons, and sexual assault matters. Her family practice involves specialization in divorce, child custody, common-law separation and child welfare matters. Courtney understands that legal matters can be overwhelming and stressful and she works very hard for her clients to alleviate as much of this as possible. She offers a free consultation and is available to discuss a variety of legal issues.
Outside the office, Courtney enjoys travelling and spending time with her husband, daughter, family and dogs. She has a genuine love for animals, as well as exploring and immersing herself in other cultures around the world.
