Independent Legal Advice
- Independent legal advice is when you get advice from a lawyer separate and apart from the other people involved in the matter. Typically, a certificate of independent legal advice is signed by the lawyer and included with your agreement. Without independent legal advice, your document may not be enforceable in court.
- At CLC Law, we offer Independent legal advice for both Family and Criminal Matters.
- In Family Law, we will review your documents in advance, provide you advise on any possible changes or revisions, ensure you understand the document in full including your rights and obligations under the law and under the agreement. Once we believe you have a full understanding of the document and agree with all of its terms, we will ensure that the document is legally binding by providing you a certificate of independent legal advice.
- For Criminal Law, we offer Independent legal advice for Complainants, so long as we do not act for the Accused. We can provide you advice on your rights and obligations when you are a complainant in a criminal matter.
